TGIF(Thank God It's Friday)!

2006 is coming and that marks a closure of another phase in my life.

Things that I've learnt in 2005:

- Optimism
- Self-deprecating humour
- A greater trust in God
- The importance of self-regulating behavior

In retrospection, I personally feel that I possess more confidence and hope towards life than I had a year ago. Back then, I was battling with melancholia as well a a strained relationship with my father. It was definitely a trying period of my life. I was in need for a listening ear...Along the months that fleeted by, I have learnt quite a few lessons... There were many choices that I had to make, and they certainly turned my life around.

Life can be really interesting. There's a myraid of experiences out there...

And choices and chance, both play a part in every single step we take.

Resolution for 2006

- A prayerful communion with God
- To foster closer ties with my family and friends
- To move out of my comfort zone for more exciting endeavours
- A new direction in life
- To eradicate my stubborn habit: Procrastination.

Now, for something that I do not have a part-of or any control on.

- Serendipity to end my singlehood(?)
- Opportunities to carve out my career

Oh, and the "minute" ones

- To get my braces done
- To do something about my warddrobe(it is seriously lacking in taste)
- To engage in more outdoor activities
- To ORD in peace

And most importantly of all.

I wish for WORLD PEACE!

Saw this at the 793 flat staircase. It's really a pity when your cat disappears. For an owner, it can be very heartbreaking. Hopefully the owner would find it again. =/

Haven't been blogging recently, just didn't feel the need to.

Especially when your entries become a topic of scrutiny.

Well, I'll blog if I want to. Not that I have to. There's no need to keep up with others...

It used to be where I can express myself.

However, these days, I am sceptical.

While everyone is jumping onto the "Celebrity Blog" bandwagon, I'm walking away from it all.

Do I sound ambiguous?

Good.

Was at Farrer Park for a rock-climbing session with Zhijie, Kai Fa and Kai Loon...

It was the first time that the 3 of them will be trying out the walls...and I can see a determination that they have to scale new heights...=)Foremostly, let us welcome the Stars of the Show...

This IS the place. And HERE are the challenges. AND the challengers!!

The CLIMB.

Zhijie attempting a different wall...

Zhijie: I DID it I DID it, I make it liao!!

Wash yours HANDS after climbing...Blisters aplenty

Went to Sentosa on Deepavali, and and I saw an influx of foreign workers who came to relax and have fun. The weather was really fine and we went to the Palawan beach where a bridge connects to the opposite side...

Many were playing beach volleyball...It was such a fun occasion and I'm really glad that they enjoyed themselves... On the other side, this gal is seen to be playing football with her brothers...One of them looked really young, and he was just tottering about while the rest ran for the ball! =P

Stayed over at Justin's house on monday for a worship/song recording session..Was riding Justin's dad's new car, Toyota Fortuna. Woah..its like, a 2.6 Litre gigantic machine and certainly a very powerful vehicle!! Went to Vincent's home at Tampines to fetch his piano keyboard before returning back to Justin's place at Eunos...It was certainly a wonderful session, as Justin self-penned two of the songs...There was the pianist(Vincent), the guitarist(Justin) and the singer(me)... I was so comfortable lying on his bed that I fell asleep into the recording of the second song! Before I know it.. I woke up at around 2.30am and realised that I have hogged Justin's bed, that poor guy had to sleep in the living room...=O

After that, I fell into deep sleep again...gosh I am such a sleepyhead...When I woke up in the morning, breakfast was already ready! That actually did an experiment: Justin placed the plate with the Prata wrap at the bed and its aroma woke me up! Hahas. The very intersting Prata + Sausage wrap that Justin names as "RAJ" Lol. Well, it's named after my friend in the signal platoon, sounded quite cheesy though...But boy did it taste good. Thanks a million guys~!

Hmm, thats such a huge difference from then. Finally they are free of all the nonsensical stuff that WE army guys have to put up with! My say? Any man outside the army is a free man. ;)

All the best to you guys!

Sunday worship at COR today was interestingly special for me as I witnessed a Baptism Ceremony...the last to be conducted st the Sanctuary, here at the old St Andrew's Junior college. It was also due to be Jasmine's baptism ceremony today; Yoke sum and Justin had prepared a present of "stuffed" flowers to congratulate her....I stayed after the youth service to attend the ceremony as well...=)

Really glad for Jasmine's new found faith..and incidently, she has been christened : FAITH. Coincidently as well! =) Hmmm...Perhaps I might also be ready soon...for baptism?

Jasmine and Yoke sum
Royston 2005

Yoke Sum was the "Super auntie" of the day..she managed to film really good footage of the baptism ceremony...haha it was so crowded and the sanctuary for a lil' small...but "Yokie" was able to get past everyone in her way by saying "Excuse me! Sorry, excuse me!". Well, I initially wanted to be the cameraman but gave up when I though of how I had to squeeze through to capture precious footage...seems that being a cameraman ain't easy..! You gotta be "thickskinned" and when filming, you need to be inconspicious, like a fly on the wall, without irritating or blocking the people...hmmmmmm! Had lunch at Harbourfront with Yoke sum and Justin after that before we made our way back...Really enjoyed Yoke Sum and Justin's company today, haha...buffet soon ya, Yokie? =P

All in all, I had a wonderful day...and ya..it's Matthias's birthday today!!

~Happy 22nd Birthday dude~! =)

An intriguing tale of love and lost and the memories that bind us: Andy Lau play two very distinct characters both connected by accidents and chance encounters. Ko is a paramedic working with the ambulance team when he used to be a successful doctor. His wife died a few years ago from a car crash and he feels guilty about her death so he now leads a routine life of working at very fixed hours so that he can spend time with his family and friends.

One day, Ko saves Yuen-Sam who had an accident and starts to take an interest in her life and discovers that not only has her husband, Derek, went missing a few years back, she is also suffering from a terminal illness. Derek, was a famous stylist, who was actively pursued by a supermodel, seeking an affair with him. The affair strained his marriage with Yuen-Sam and after one big argument; he left without a word.

Yuen-Sam, tells Ko that her dying wish is to spend some happy times with Derek. Ko agrees to help and in his quest, he discovers that Derek actually looks very much like himself...

The tone of the film is driven by beautiful people, heartbreaking exchanges, and flawed characters. We learn to treasure the people we love.

I personally liked the director's filmography..it was very interesting; the camera techniques that he used to film...I loved the story, how Andy Lau "replaced" Charlie Young's boyfriend to make her happy for her remaining days...hmm..imagine celebrating all the seasons of the year in a week...it was sad yet heartwarming...It explores a central idea in relationships, of taking things and your partner for granted. Yes, hands up those who are guilty of this from time to time.

You'll never truly feel the loss of something, until it's gone...
After that, the rest of the guys had to leave...so Minghui and I decided to catch a movie...Decided to watch "All About Love" , a movie starring Andy Lau, Charlie Young and Charlene Choi. Before the movie began, there was a trailer of an upcoming movie,"A Chinese Tall Story", which incidently stars Charlene Choi as well...The movie scenes were rather whimsical yet endearingly funny; I kinda like the feel of it. May be I might watch it when it is released...hmmmm...

Son Goku?

Erm...Cool.

Tripitaka as the Superstar Idol?

Charlene Choi looking ugly?!
Went out with Minghui,Ruiqin,Justin and Vince at Marina Square on Sat...that was the first time we met in a bigger group like that...Ruiqin was entertaining with his marksmanship in the arcade first person shooter...=) Felt that the arcade environment might bore Justin... xD Am looking foward for more interactions like that...

Wow, when I went to Carrefour later in the evening, I saw a visually impaired gentleman with a walking stick playing the keyboard that were on display! He is amazingly good and he belted out the tunes of a few well-known mandarin oldies...=) I am impressed my how talented he is! I mean, playing so well despite his disablities certainly tells a lot: He must have been a very hardworking pianist! Saw him smiling as he played the piano keyboard gracefully...reminded me of the memorable pianist whom often performs at the Orchard Underpass...Cool!
